I’ve kind of fallen hard for these beets. That color guys, it’s seriously wonderful.
And combined with that strawberry and banana combo, boom, breakfast is served with style.
While the rest of the US is surviving the blizzard 2K15, here in Kansas we’re rocking the 60-65 temps and I’m wearing athletic shorts in comfort.
Winter is confused. And love struck. Love struck with this idea of warm weather. Winter, I feel you 100%. Go find summer and never look back.
I’m a smoothie gal all the way. Smoothies detox my system and are packed with energy which unfortunately is something I can’t seem to find as easily. I think it left along with winter. And smoothies are so easy peasy. You can throw about any fruit combo in your blender, add some ice and milk, and go to town with that blending. It’s so fun to see it come together into a brightly colored drink.
Oh, and if you haven’t gotten the hint, beets are perfect for a delicious and nutritious Valentine’s Day.
- 1 ripe banana
- 1 cup frozen strawberries
- ¼ cup beet puree (about ½ large beet)
- ½ cup almond milk
- 1 Tablespoon honey (opt)
- Blend all the ingredients in a blender.
