This ice cream is for reals you guys. Frozen fruit NEVER ceases to amaze me. And hopefully, this will amaze you, blow your mind, all the good jazz, too. It’s so so good. I’ve blended up a lot of smoothies and such in my short life time and when I scooped (I knew when I could scoop it that it was something special) it out for Abigail and me to try, I fell head over heels for this specific combination.
Let’s be real, it’s incredibly simple. It’s four ingredients. It’s frozen fruit and OJ, nothing too special. But unlike smoothies, this isn’t straw material. Also unlike ice cream, this isn’t going to require an ice cream maker. However, like ice cream, this is super thick and creamy and scoopable. Don’t miss this.
Thanks to the 4th of July and a family vacation back to back, I’ve not been in the kitchen at all. It wasn’t all bad though, I didn’t have to do dishes for more than a week. Pretty legit even if I did have to give up smoothies since apparently Ninjas aren’t necessary for hiking through Colorado. Who knew.
Ninjas or Vitamixes or whatever you use are necessary for ultra creamy ‘nana ice cream. And it’s so worth it.
- 2 frozen bananas
- 5-7 frozen strawberries
- ½ cup frozen blueberries
- ½ cup orange juice
- 15 cake cones
- In your Ninja or food processor, pulse your frozen bananas. Layer strawberries and blueberries and then pour the orange juice over all the frozen fruit. Blend on high for several minutes while the fruit blends together. This will take a while; don't add more liquid as that will make it too liquidy and/or icy.
- Once you have a thick smooth berry ice cream, scoop into cake cones and serve immediately!
