Hi there y’all! I’m Mary Frances, the baker/photographer/recipe developer behind this blog. I’m thrilled to have you here. This Internet thing is the greatest ever, huh?
So, “What makes this blog different than the other hundreds of cooking blogs out there?”
Well, here, you will find recipes tested and approved by my quality control team (aka myfamily). I love spending time in the kitchen, experimenting with ingredients and putting my spin on desserts. Disguising strange ingredients is fun and my goal is always to achieve a dessert that is delicious, but also has something in it that is good for you. I don’t always reach that goal, but to me, sweet and rich is what makes a dessert. I cook for six now seven younger sets of picky tastebuds and they try and approve nearly everything I bake.
Recently, I’ve omitted dairy from my diet thanks to a lactose intolerance. So, most of my recipes will be dairy free. And most of my recipes will include whole wheat, lower sugar and fat, and healthy ingredients with the goal of putting good food into our bodies. I have a crazy sweet tooth, especially when it comes to chocolate, so if chocolate (or peanut butter!) seems to be a recurring theme, it is! 🙂
That being said, I don’t believe any ingredient is bad because the key is moderation. I still bake desserts for my family and friends that include dairy, and I still bake decadent dairy free desserts for myself, even if they aren’t “healthy.” I believe the term “healthy” can be used extremely. Most of the time, put the good-for-you food in your body, but don’t deprive yourself from things like chocolate! 🙂 I believe God gives us passions to bless others. I have a passion for baking and I hope you can use these recipes I share to bless your family and friends. I also believe God wants us to take care of our bodies and that includes a healthy diet – in moderation.

My favorite food is Mexican … and barbeque chips. Not together.
